Our client’s existing system for concluding facultative reinsurance contracts had grown over the years – and this was precisely what led to new challenges: outdated architecture, low test coverage and compatibility issues with old libraries made further development difficult. At the same time, there were high requirements for configurability due to a very complex risk environment with highly individualised processes and the secure migration of extensive inventory data.

To solve the existing challenges, we redesigned the system and modernised existing functions. Based on our usability research, the customer designed a user-friendly interface in accordance with DIN ISO 9241.
The integrated test management ensured that even complex use cases and configurations, such as scenario-based referrals or geographical risks, were reliably covered. Through consistent requirements engineering, the underwriters’ business processes were translated into clear software requirements – including a pricing engine that automates and simplifies quote calculation, as well as integrated budget management.
