The Challenge

With the CELOS X platform, DMG Mori offers digital applications for milling machines to increase productivity and provide customers with new digital features. This takes the connectivity and digitalization of the machines to a new level. Protecting confidential data and manufacturing results in an increased need for IT security.

How we helped

Utilizing our technological expertise in IT security and our know-how in mechanical engineering, we conducted a penetration test on the machine. We thoroughly examined the system components, interfaces, and protocols used. Our security experts validated the effectiveness of the measures already taken and recommended further improvement measures to sustainably optimize the cyber resilience of the latest version of the CELOS X ecosystem.

Key Findings:

• Comprehensive Security Report:  In a comprehensive report, the points we identified were described in detail and assessed. Additionally, risks were mitigated with actionable recommendations.
• Executive Summary:  The results were prepared in a version for executives with an assessment of cyber resilience.
• Consultation on Sustainable Security Measures:  In collaboration with developers and product security managers from DMG Mori, further measures and initiatives for effective IT security were developed.
