The Digital Product Passport (DPP) is an initiative of the European Commission as part of the ESPR (Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation). This regulation is part of the European Green Deal and aims to improve the way products are designed, manufactured and disposed of within the EU and to promote both the circular economy and sustainability. The DPP (Digital Product Passport) will progressively become mandatory for many product groups in the EU starting 2027. This means products may only be placed on the market if they have a DPP.
